The Protected Property contains coastal shrubland and forest. The Protected Property is surrounded by medium density residential land and recreational land (Sakonnet Golf Course). Based on the examination of historic aerial photography, it appears the Protected Property has been forested over the last several decades. In 1939 the southwestern corner of the property was cleared, most likely for agricultural purposes.
