The Duffield & Yeatman Property is located on the east side of West Main Road in Little Compton, immediately west of Bumblebee Farm. The property contains some upland along West Main Road, but is primarily a mix of deciduous wooded wetland and shrub swamp. A historic agricultural right-of-way (‘trail’) bisects the property from west to east, but is very wet during most portions of the year. The northeast corner of the property falls along Dundery Brook and the entire property lies within the Dundery Brook watershed. The entire property is bound by historic stone walls.
Based on the examination of historic aerial photography, it appears that most of the property was released from agricultural use sometime prior to 1939.
This property was purchased by Quitclaim Deed from Elizabeth Yeatman and Alice Duffield on November 27, 1985.
