On July 16, 2022, we met to celebrate Sakonnet Preservation’s 50th Anniversary and Little Compton’s open spaces, ocean views, fields, forests, and farms. We honored the organization, its volunteers, and the supporters who have worked to preserve our town’s natural beauty and rural character since 1972.
We gathered with friends for cocktails, dinner, and dancing in the meadows overlooking Lloyd’s Beach.
The event included:
- A farmer’s market cocktail hour with stations featuring the produce of local farms and vendors
- Dinner for 550 guests seated under a tent
- Music, dancing, and dessert after dinner
- An auction with very special items
This celebration was the highlight of the 2022 summer season and marked the completion of the first phase of the $1,000,000 capital campaign.
